Even if the COVID-19 situation continues to improve, the COVID-19 pandemic will still be an issue and might still concern many of you. Currently, government measures for events like GalaCon have been laid down almost completely. Therefore, we ask for your cooperation to make GalaCon a safe and comfortable event for anyone.
What are the rules?
You may not attend GalaCon, if you
- suffer from symptoms of COVID-19,
- got a positive result on a COVID-19 test (including self tests) within 5 days of the event or
- are suspected to have a COVID-19 infection.
If you got a positive result on a COVID-19 test or had close contact to an infected person within 14 days of the event, you may only attend if you do not suffer from typical symptoms of COVID-19 and did a COVID-19 test (including self test) with a negative result within 48 hours before arrival.
If you develop COVID-19 symptoms or get notified about a positive test result or close contact with an infected person during GalaCon, please leave the event immediately and take adequate measures.
Face masks are not mandatory, but we kindly ask everyone to wear a face mask in crowded areas and if you cannot keep a safe distance from other visitors. You can buy face masks in nearly every drug store, pharmacy or grocery store.
We suggest taking a COVID-19 test before the convention and some days after your departure. Also, we recommend to only attend if you are either vaccinated or immune due to recovery from an earlier COVID-19 infection. A proof of immunity or a negative test is not mandatory for entry, but highly recommendable in your own interest and for the safety of all other attendees.
You can inform yourself about test centres around Ludwigsburg here. Please mind that COVID-19 tests are no longer free in Germany. If you provide a convention ticket, you might get a discount.
If possible, please pay contactless via card, credit card or PayPal.
Follow the general hygiene rules: Wash your hands regularly and use hand sanitizer, avoid touching your face and avoid close contact with other visitors. Hand sanitizer will be supplied at the bathrooms and entrances.
What else should I pay attention to?
Face masks are still mandatory in Germany on flights as well as in trains and public transport. This also counts for pharmacies or medical facilities.
If you are traveling to Germany from a different country, please inform yourself about the entry regulations here. A PCR test might be required if you cannot provide proof of vaccination or immunity.
Hotels and stores may still require face masks or take other special safety measures. Please pay attention to signs and contact your accomodation about their requirements.
Where can I get help or more information?
At GalaCon, please feel free to contact our staff if you need assistance or have further questions. For any medical issue, you can always reach out to the paramedics.
Why are there no stricter rules?
We understand that some of you would feel safer if stricter rules, for example a face mask mandate or entrance restrictions, were in force. But such measures would not be backed by government laws and therefore very difficult if not impossible to enforce.
