Hello everyone!
As we all know in these trying times, many of the things we all enjoyed and sometimes took for granted are not available to us. One of those aspects of our lives we all miss dearly are our beloved conventions. Believe us that from the organizing standpoint, we are just as heartbroken as everyone else is about not being able to meet with you all for over a year now. We are incredibly thankful for your patience, persistence, and kindness as we struggle to keep things spinning.
Even now, in 2021, many conventions are still forced to close down, move dates or downscale. We have been watching the situation very closely, especially here in Germany. We took a close look at each one of the possibilities laying in front of us, worked out and evaluated possibilities and risks together with experts. Although we tried everything to make GalaCon possible under those special circumstances, the overall development does not leave us any other choice.
And so, it is with a heavy heart that we must announce that GalaCon will be postponed to
July 30th – 31st, 2022.
In addition to the infection risk, there are still many restrictions and uncertainties that would probably spoil the experience for many of you. Under the same circumstances as in Summer 2020, GalaCon could still only host less than 500 visitors, would require fixed seat assignments, and could not offer some of the most fun events. Besides, travel restrictions could still be in effect and make it impossible for many of you, some of our volunteers and staff, and of course our guests to attend. In the end, the little experience we could offer is not worth risking the health of our visitors, staff and guests.
Everyone who kept their tickets, donated or bought our merchandise contributed so much to helping GalaCon through this crisis. Even if we are not able to bring you the event for another year, these contributions mean that once the crisis is finally over, we will have enough resources to get back on the schedule without major issues. We again want to thank you all for your great support during these difficult times!
Tickets & Refunds
Even if the financial situation is not as critical as 2020, we would still be incredibly thankful for anyone who can keep their ticket in the form of a voucher for GalaCon 2022. Each ticket sale raises non-refundable costs on our side (such as shop fees or payment fees), not to mention that every accepted voucher gives us more planning security for 2022.
And so, we would like to ask you to please take a minute to fill out the following form and tell us whether you want to keep your ticket or ask for a refund:

Refunds are possible till June 30th, 2021. After that all tickets will be automatically converted into a voucher for a Galacon 2022 ticket. By telling us that you’d like to keep your ticket via above form, you are ensuring us planning safety for the upcoming months. Thanks for your support!
